On February 28, the Canadian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, E. Leclair, summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, was strongly protested in connection with the hostile actions of aggressive elements at the Russian Embassy in Ottawa, as well as the Russian consulates General in Montreal and Toronto.
The head of the Canadian diplomatic mission was informed of the Russian side’s demand to immediately take comprehensive measures to ensure the proper security of employees and family members of Russian diplomatic missions in accordance with Canada’s international obligations. It was stressed that otherwise the Russian Foreign Ministry reserves the right to retaliate.
