The founders of the museum city are immigrants from England. The city was founded in 1670. It is famous for the unusual architectural solutions of buildings from the time of colonization, built in the 18th century.
Charleston was the first British settlement in the territory of the state of South Carolina. It had the name Gharles Rowne, which means “Karl’s city”. A decade later, it was moved to a new location, where it remains to this day.
