This was stated by the Chairman of the CSTO PA, the Chairman of the State Duma at a joint meeting of the Assembly Council and the XVI plenary session of the CSTO PA

“The harmonization of approaches to the protection of historical memory will contribute to the formation of a common legal space between our countries. We have on our agenda draft recommendations on responsibility for acts related to the rehabilitation of Nazism and distortion of historical memory in the legislation of the CSTO member states,” the Chairman of the CSTO PA, Chairman of the State Duma, said at the meeting Vyacheslav Volodin.

He stressed that “the information policy of Western countries to falsify history and glorify the accomplices of Nazi Germany is criminal.”

“The facts that we are facing suggest that Nazi accomplices and those who want to distort history have raised their heads and, without hesitation, applaud, applaud, honor the fascists, as the Ukrainian fascist was honored in the Canadian parliament. And the leadership of the United States and European countries openly support this. This is unacceptable for us,” Vyacheslav Volodin addressed the parliamentarians.

“As deputies, parliamentarians of the CSTO, we represent the interests of the peoples who defeated fascism. We need to do everything to protect the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the memory of those who died at the hands of the Nazis,” the Chairman of the State Duma added.

A joint meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the XVI plenary session of the CSTO PA are taking place in Moscow. Parliamentarians are discussing issues of harmonization of the legislations of the Organization’s member countries, as well as the preparation of model laws and recommendations on countering security challenges and threats in the CSTO area of responsibility.
