Amid the good wishes of all the people of the country, the IX Congress of the Children’s Union of Korea opened in Pyongyang on December 26.
Delegates nominated by the organizations of the Children’s Union of the whole country took part in the congress.
Senior officials of the Youth Union and the sector related to the education of adolescents have been invited.
The head of the department of the Central Committee of the CPC Lee Du Son, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Union of Patriotic Youth Moon Chor, Chairman of the Education Committee Kim Seung Doo, senior officials of the Youth Union and the relevant regions, exemplary delegates of the Children’s Union took their places on the podium.
To the music of the song “March of the Children’s Union”, the flag of the Children’s Union of Korea was raised.
When the congress was declared open, the national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly performed.
In an atmosphere of high enthusiasm of all participants to further strengthen and develop the Children’s Union into a revolutionary children’s organization and a detachment of young revolutionaries who firmly carry the baton of the Juche cause, the congress entered into discussion of the items on the agenda.
