Last year, the export of IT companies in Uzbekistan increased by 3.5 times

Exports carried out by residents of “IT Park” increased by 3.5 times, and services provided to the local market ‑ by 2.5 times, the correspondent of IA “Doone” reports with reference to the portal “mitc.uz “.

According to the portal, as a result of improving the IT infrastructure in Uzbekistan, creating a favorable environment for foreign companies in 2021, the number of 23 foreign IT companies increased by 157 this year.

At the end of 2022, there were 1,037 residents of IT-Park. Of these, 306 are exporters, 164 are programmers, 191 are educational and 150 are companies with foreign capital. Analyzing, we mean an increase of 7% compared to the beginning of the year. A number of benefits are provided for them. In particular, the exemption from social tax, the establishment of an income tax on individuals at the rate of 7.5%, as well as the absence of customs duties on the import of software not manufactured in Uzbekistan, will not remain without an increase in the number of such companies.

Another promising direction in IT is freelancing. Information technologies are developing day by day, and the demand for “freelancers” is also growing. In 2022, the volume of exports through freelancers amounted to about $ 11 million. Having a high income in this area, many young people are self-employed. If you look at the figures, the number of self-employed in the field of ICT will exceed 70 thousand people.

“ITwomen.Uz ” within the framework of the project, 205 IT centers and 4,532 women have successfully completed training courses. Created in collaboration with USED “Tumaris.Tesh”, which had more than 4,000 people. More than 200 women have been educated. Another important project is Skil4girls. This project, organized jointly with UNICEF, has become an effective mechanism for attracting the interest and involvement of girls and women with various forms of disability in this area.
