Yerlan Sairov, chairman of the Republican Public Council for the Development of Public Administration and Anti-Corruption under the Amanat party, told about the seizure of Bolat Nazarbayev’s lands, the receipt of which was declared illegal, the correspondent reports Tengrinews.kz .

The party’s website, with reference to Sairov, reports that at present 239 thousand hectares in the Mangystau region and 60 thousand hectares of land in the Zhambyl region, owned by subsidiaries of Bolat Nazarbayev, have already been returned to the state. Earlier, in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office, 59 land plots with an area of 244 hectares were identified, the owner of which under dubious circumstances became Bolat Nazarbayev.

Tengrinews correspondent.kz contacted Sairov to find out the details.

He explained that the Anti-Corruption Council under the Amanat Party is a public structure. If they receive signals, they are sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office so that it understands the legality or illegality of certain specific actions of state agencies.

“We have received a complaint from a group of people in the Almaty region about illegal actions. And we sent a request to the Prosecutor General’s Office for 244 hectares of land in Almaty, Talgar, Astana, Kaskelen and Turkestan region. Now the Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating, it turns out that most of these lands were illegally granted. The Prosecutor General’s Office is taking actions to return these lands to the bosom of the state,” Yerlan Sairov explained.

He noted that six months had passed since the signal was received and before the land was returned to the state, the complaint was received in September 2022.

Recall that in a Message to the people on September 1, 2022, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to take measures against undeveloped or illegally granted lands.

“The area of undeveloped or illegally granted land is about 10 million hectares. The government and akimats must make concrete decisions regarding these lands by the end of next year,” the Head of State said.
