Greetings to the organizers and participants of the 10th International festival “It’s Time to Go into Space”.
Achievements in the exploration of outer space are playing an increasingly prominent role in the economy, contributing to the well-being of the peoples of the world. Cosmonautics is a kind of synthesis of all the best that has been achieved in the world by science and technology. The development and creation of rocket and space systems, artificial Earth satellites, manned spacecraft and orbital stations have made a visible contribution to accelerating the development of many branches of the modern national economy.
Numerous successes in the field of near-Earth space exploration have become possible thanks to international cooperation aimed at fruitful exchange of experience and cost reduction. A striking example is the interaction of Russia with foreign partners on the creation and operation of the International Space Station.
The UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space is a key platform for dialogue on the broad space agenda. Thanks to the spirit of cooperation within the framework of the Committee, it was possible to develop five fundamental treaties on outer space, which laid a reliable foundation for peaceful space activities.
In the current geopolitical conditions, it is important to maintain contacts between the world’s leading experts on topics that unite humanity, such as space. For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to promote the preservation of the necessary channels of depoliticized dialogue.
Russia is ready to develop multilateral cooperation in outer space for the benefit of humanity on the basis of international law. I hope that your meeting, which brought together prominent domestic and foreign experts, will also contribute to the common efforts.
