In the previous article, “Embassy Life” managed to tell how “chunwan”, a Chinese gala concert on the celebration of the Spring Festival, demonstrated the cultural heritage of its country. Now it is time to tell about the numbers dedicated to ordinary citizens of the People’s Republic of China – their present and future.
A number with the participation of children depicting rabbits opened the gala concert. Such a combination of “semantic elements”: the beginning of the program, the beginning of the New Year, the beginning of life was created with an obvious purpose – to show that the country has its future, which will be as happy and beautiful as the Spring Festival itself.
The performance of the choir, whose participants were dressed in folk and work costumes, caused many emotions among the audience in the hall. At the end of the composition, many of the visitors of the gala concert sang along with the performers: “You are a bright star illuminating the dark night. You are a ray of dawn. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life.”
A song dedicated to the delivery service employees continued the idea of the importance of each person, regardless of their origin and social status. “We are working hard, because we have a dream,” the text says.
A number with the participation of mythical creatures demonstrated the achievements of the country in the field of digital technologies in all its glory. A song performed by dreamer children who are able to represent fabulous animals accompanied the augmented reality. It is especially symbolic that a number called «The future is in our hands» followed this.
“My heart is overflowing with faith, hope. I want to say to the Motherland: the future is in our hands,” the performers sang from the stage surrounded by the “builders of the new world”.
The circus number “Boldly moving forward” did not allow you to take your eyes off what was happening on stage for a minute.
And, of course, honored guests were invited to the gala concert: people of different professions who contributed to the development of society and the country. They were greeted by the whole hall, and they themselves, in turn, congratulated China on an important holiday.
