By the end of 2022, the number of high-tech enterprises in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), according to the Department of Science and Technology of the XUAR, increased by 43.4 percent. up to 1,368 enterprises on an annual basis.
At the beginning of 2022, the XUAR authorities created a special fund to promote the development of high-tech enterprises and for the first time noted their investments in research and development /R&D/. To date, these enterprises have received a total of 243 million yuan in remuneration, or about 35.9 million US dollars.
This measure is an important factor in increasing the number of local high-tech enterprises, and also contributes to a significant increase in their investment in R&D, the ministry noted.
