International Festival of the Peoples of the North “Soul of Russia”

With the support of the Committee, the International Festival of the Peoples of the North “The Soul of Russia” is being held at the Lenfilm Film Studio as part of the SPIEF-2023 cultural program.

From June 14 to 17, the International Festival of the Peoples of the North “The Soul of Russia” is being held at the Lenfilm Film Studio as part of the SPIEF-2023 cultural program, where special attention is paid to the Arctic regions of Russia and the indigenous peoples of the North: their culture, heritage and modern reinterpretation of the traditional creative industries of northern ethnic groups.

Creative collectives of national cultural associations of St. Petersburg take part in the festival‑St. Petersburg.

The festival features 15 regions and more than 400 participants, including representatives of various creative industries.

“Within the framework of the festival, a new platform “Expo of Creative Industries” has been organized, where street art artists, authors of audiovisual performances and masters of unique crafts demonstrate their achievements,” said the first Deputy chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Implementation of Migration Policy in St. Petersburg‑Alexey Silkin in St. Petersburg.

At the site of creative industries, festival guests can get acquainted with:
– the works of famous ethno-musicians,
– photo and art exhibitions,
– works of street art masters,
– ethnic films about the culture of indigenous peoples,
– products of unique crafts.
