Question: Maria Vladimirovna, how do you assess the accession of “neutral” Switzerland to the new restrictive measures of the European Union against our country?
Answer: Switzerland’s accession to the eleventh package of illegitimate anti–Russian sanctions of the EU only confirmed the obvious fact – the departure of this country from the principles of neutrality. The Swiss authorities can convince themselves and others of the opposite, but practical steps clearly show that Bern is fully participating in the “sanctions war” of the collective West against Russia, openly supports the criminal regime in Kiev, and is drifting more and more clearly towards NATO.
We sincerely regret that the Confederation authorities have chosen such a path, depriving the country of an effective foreign policy advantage, which until recently provided Switzerland with its identity and status as an authoritative platform for international diplomacy. Moreover, we have previously faced restrictions on the entry of Russian diplomats to Switzerland for various multilateral events.
