On October 5-6, St. Petersburg will host the XI International Forum “Anti–Counterfeit-2023”, dedicated to the protection of the markets of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union from counterfeiting and falsification, the introduction of modern digital mechanisms, marking and traceability systems, the exchange of best practices of legal regulation in the field of standardization and certification, as well as the protection of intellectual property rights.

As part of the business program of the forum, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, state bodies of the EAEU countries, the World Intellectual Property Organization and other international organizations, professional associations and businesses will take part in the plenary session, discussion sessions and exhibition events.

The main purpose of the forum is to exchange ideas, opinions, experience on the practical application of legislation, demonstrate successful projects and develop joint solutions in order to form a civilized market of goods and services in the EAEU countries.

According to the Minister of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the forum “Anti-counterfeit” is an integral part of the Eurasian integration agenda and allows attracting the attention of the public, business and government agencies to the problems of combating the spread of counterfeit goods. “Current trends in the production and distribution of counterfeit goods dictate the need to search for and discuss new effective tools to combat counterfeiting and counterfeiting in the common Eurasian market,” the EEC Minister stressed.

One of the topics of the forum will be, among other things, the development of digital labeling on the territory of the EAEU countries, the exchange of experience on the implementation of such a system in various product groups, its effectiveness and opportunities for further development.

“New supply chains, the rotation of companies and brands in the consumer market make the issues of combating counterfeit products especially relevant. They require the introduction of modern digital technologies, accelerated development of the digital marking system and traceability throughout the EAEU. The Forum will traditionally become the main discussion platform in this area,” said Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

The Anti–Counterfeit Forum is an annual business event of the Eurasian Economic Union, which is held alternately in the state presiding over the bodies of the EAEU. In 2023, Russia is the presiding country in the Eurasian Economic Union.
