Belarusian companies will work on the construction of the Rosatom lithium-ion battery factory in the Kaliningrad region. This was stated by the Director General of the state corporation Alexey Likhachev at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko. He also revealed how Rosatom considers the participation of Belarusian partners in the project.

This weekend, the construction of a new gigafactory of batteries has been transferred to the active phase, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said, Sputnik reports.

“A number of Belarusian companies have received an invitation to work in construction, and we, of course, see the mandatory participation of Belarusian automakers in the entire cycle: both production and operation and utilization of energy storage devices,” the CEO noted.

Rosatom noted that they intend to develop cooperation with Belarus even after the completion of the Belarusian NPP project. Integration in various sectors of the economy has demonstrated the demand for specialists from Belarus in Russia, and Russian specialists in Belarus.

Earlier, the company said that in 2024 it will be able to supply equipment for cancer treatment to Belarus. With the participation of the Russian state corporation, four new medical facilities will also be built in the republic. In May, Likhachev spoke about joint projects with Belarus related to composites, 3D printing, and energy storage.
