On October 25, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow Nazih Nagari at his request.
The sides exchanged views on topical regional issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly. Particular attention was paid to the consideration of the efforts being made at the UN sites to de-escalate violence in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including in the context of the resumption on October 26 of the 10th Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly for the Protection of the Palestinian People.
In addition, the meeting discussed developments in Libya in connection with the extension of the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), as well as the situation in Syria in the context of the general increase in tension and against the background of an increase in the number of arbitrary Israeli air attacks.
