On October 26, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) for Political Affairs A.Bagheri Kyani, who is in Moscow.
The main attention was paid to the situation with the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, including taking into account the termination of a number of its provisions concerning the Iranian missile program and international cooperation with Tehran in this area, as well as the “freezing” of assets of some legal entities and individuals of Iran.
The mutual commitment of Russia and Iran to their international obligations under the aforementioned resolution was confirmed, taking into account the carefully balanced balance of interests laid down in it, which was undermined by systematic gross violations of the requirements of the UN Security Council by the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Some other issues on the international and regional agenda were also touched upon.
