The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, as part of a working trip to the Murmansk region, held a meeting in Kirovsk with the tourism business of the region, at which, among other things, measures to support the industry were discussed. The meeting was attended by representatives of ski resorts, entrepreneurs developing snowmobile tourism in the region, tour operators and hoteliers.
“We need to develop new destinations – this applies to both summer and winter tourism. The first thing we focused on was the issue related to new places of accommodation – hotels and sanatoriums. Here we have two major major programs. These are modular hotels, the so-called glamping, and large stationary hotels, which form a new quality of the room stock. We have also laid a completely new direction – these are large children’s amusement parks and ski resorts,” Maxim Reshetnikov said.
He noted that the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, taking into account the fact that various programs are being implemented within the ministry, has set the task to achieve maximum synergy of various tools to support projects in tourism. In particular, hotel projects can receive the support of the SME Corporation.
“For 9 months under the national project “Small and medium-sized enterprises”, the volume of preferential lending to tourism has reached almost 42 billion rubles. This is twice as much as last year’s figure,” the minister said.

In January-September, more than 100 companies became recipients of support within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship”, curated by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. The support measures are aimed at the creation of tourist infrastructure, the construction of new hotels, the expansion and renovation of the number of rooms.
Within the framework of the national guarantee system, more than 30 billion rubles of loans and other financial support were received by micro, small and medium-sized businesses from the tourism industry. In particular, 7 billion rubles of loans were attracted by companies from the tourism sector using the “umbrella” guarantees of the SME Corporation. Financing, among other things, was directed to repair work, the purchase of furniture, equipment and machinery.
A number of projects supported by the national SME project are being implemented in the Murmansk region. For example, in the region, funds went to the construction of a tourist eco-village: 65 million rubles were allocated at 5%, as well as the repair of two hotels – 51 million rubles at 4%.
At the meeting of the Minister with business, the issue of regulating access to driving a snowmobile on the basis of driver’s licenses of category A and B, which is important for the Murmansk region, was also raised. This issue is included in the roadmap for the transformation of the business climate in tourism for 2023-2025, which is currently being approved by federal agencies.
