They discussed topical issues of cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua in the framework of the parliamentary dimension
A meeting of the Chairman of the State Duma was held in the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin with the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua for the development of relations with Russia Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo.
They discussed topical issues of cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua within the framework of the parliamentary dimension.
As Vyacheslav Volodin noted, “much has already been done: the interparliamentary dialogue between Russia and Nicaragua has significantly intensified.” He recalled that in October the first meeting of the Commission on Cooperation of the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Nicaragua was held, where joint initiatives in the field of industry and agriculture were discussed.
“It is necessary to continue to implement new formats, to do everything to get a concrete result from our work,” Vyacheslav Volodin stressed.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, economic cooperation is actively developing: by the end of 2023, “the volume of trade turnover between Russia and Nicaragua increased by 54%.” It is necessary to continue the work on expanding bilateral cooperation, Vyacheslav Volodin added.
The Republic is interested in cooperation with Russia, especially in such areas as finance, health and security, the Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua stressed.
“We want to contribute to de—dollarization, jointly contributing to the end of the dollar’s hegemony, and work to create a more balanced financial system,” added Laureano Ortega Murillo.
“With great hope, we are watching the birth of a new world order, where Russia is leading. In this sense, we want to emphasize that Nicaragua is a strategic ally of Russia in Central America. The goals of the USA and NATO’s end to the Russian Federation is very clear. But they will never succeed,” said the special representative of the President of Nicaragua.
