On the results of the third meeting of the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue on issues related to ICT security

On December 18, the third meeting of the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue on issues related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) security was held in an online format. The co-chairs were Sergey Vershinin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Keo Sothi, State Secretary of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The meeting confirmed the desire of Russia and the ASEAN member countries to develop interagency cooperation, jointly search for solutions to respond to challenges and threats in the information space based on the principles of sovereign equality and non-interference in their internal affairs. Both sides expressed their intention to further develop legally binding instruments under the auspices of the United Nations in the field of combating the use of ICT for criminal purposes and preventing conflicts in the digital environment.

As a result, an agreement was reached to hold a regular meeting of the Dialogue next year.
