More than 17 thousand schoolchildren and college students became participants in the educational programs of the All-Russian Children’s Center “Smena” in 2023. These are guys from all regions of Russia, including the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, as well as from countries near and far abroad: Abkhazia, Armenia, Spain, Egypt, Belarus and South Ossetia.

During the Year of the teacher and Mentor, 52 educational programs were implemented in Smena, 32 of them were prepared in cooperation with thematic partners: leading universities of the country, state corporations, youth movements and federal agencies.

The highlight of the year was the festival “Teacher of Russia”, which brought together more than 700 schoolchildren and students of pedagogical colleges from 75 regions of the country.

“For students, the festival has become a direct touch to the profession, the first real experience in pedagogy. Communicating with the students, they practiced their professional skills. The younger guys, thanks to young and creative mentors, were able to develop the qualities of a successful personality, flexible skills, and determine the choice of a professional trajectory,” said Igor Zhuravlev, director of VDC Smena.

In the Year of the teacher and Mentor, the first tent camp “Mentor” was opened for students of pedagogical colleges in Smena, where a rally was held in the summer “#PEDOCOMPASS”. The educational program of the rally was implemented with the support of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.

Another new camp has appeared on the territory of the “Shift”, in the village of Sukko. Professionum accepts first- and second-year students from secondary vocational education institutions. Children develop professional skills through mentoring, learn to conduct educational activities and help students master professional competencies at the Park of the Future Vocational Training Center.

The events were held not only for schoolchildren and students, but also for teachers. In 2023, more than 11 thousand curators of educational groups of technical schools and colleges in Russia studied at the distance learning courses “Shifts” for advanced training in the organization of educational work. The work was carried out within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism”.

The specialists of the children’s center conducted full-time training intensive courses in four major cities of the country: St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Moscow.

In 2023, Smena became a co-organizer of the first All-Russian competition “The Best Children’s Camp in Russia”. The winners were awarded at the All-Russian Forum of organizers of children’s recreation and recreation “Big Meanings”, which was held at the children’s center.
