A wide range of topical issues of the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed by the participants of the meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Agro-Industrial Complex on March 27, chaired by the Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Gohar Barseghyan.
In particular, the issue of measures of state support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union was considered. Representatives of the authorized bodies of the member states exchanged experiences of national measures of state support for small businesses, as well as reviewed international experience on this issue. The Commission proposed to consider the possibility of providing support to agricultural producers in niche sub-sectors of agriculture, where small-scale production has a competitive advantage.
The meeting participants considered measures to develop the production of breeding products in the livestock sub-sectors that are significantly dependent on the import of breeding resources, and also discussed increasing the volume of mutual trade and ensuring the international competitiveness of the Union countries. The proposals were developed based on the analysis of the market of breeding products of the member States of the Union for 2018-2022. They are aimed at improving the efficiency of breeding work with farm animals, increasing the provision of member States with their own breeding products with high genetic potential. This will increase the level of organization and management of breeding business, and will contribute to the sustainable functioning of animal husbandry in the EAEU member states.
The Committee members approved the draft Recommendation of the Board of the Commission “On the list of measures for the sustainable development of poultry farming in the Member States of the Union”, which provides for the implementation of additional measures. Among them are the development of innovative developments and technological solutions in the field of deep processing of poultry meat and eggs; the introduction of robotics in the use of combined sensor applications for fixing and tracking all elements of production. The implementation of the recommendation will stimulate mutual trade, export of poultry meat and poultry products, as well as improve the efficiency of the industry.
