Students of the Social and Humanitarian College of the Kuleshov Moscow State University have developed an application “Ellai” for families raising children with special developmental needs. The development reached the finals of the national youth project “100 Ideas for Belarus” by the end of 2023, BelTA correspondent reports.

One of the developers is a college student Yulia Eshkileva. According to her, the new app helps parents who have a child with special developmental needs to organize their personal time. “Our application automatically selects personalized recommendations according to the child’s individual peculiarity, allows you to make a to-do list and receive daily advice. It gives the opportunity to plan the daily regime, track the child’s development, the application forms recommendations depending on the child’s peculiarities, and also provides a quick transition to useful resources where the user can get additional information of interest,” – said the author.

The application is already available for download on Android, the version for the iOS operating system is still in development. “Ellay” – convenient for families where a child is growing, for example, with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and so on. We developed the application in a month and a half, and soon it will be widely available for free use. Now it is being tested among the Mogilev community of parents of children with special developmental needs “New Horizons”, – informed the college student.

Yulia Eshkileva admitted that the idea to create a convenient application came by chance. Having analyzed similar proposals, the future programmer realized that there are practically no analogues, especially Russian-language ones. “We downloaded and looked at various applications, there is nothing like ours. In the future we want to introduce a neural network into our project, it will answer various popular questions from parents. We will also add a psychological unloading section for parents. In far-reaching plans – to open our own community and create a website”, – shared the author of the project.
