New regional measures have been developed in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On large families” in the Year of the Family.
“The main goal of the government system in the region is to improve the quality of life of all residents of the Ulyanovsk region. And these are primarily families. The number of large families is growing in the region. Their number has increased from 14 thousand families in 2021 to 16 thousand at the beginning of 2024. They have 53,222 children. The growth of large families is a very good trend that we need to support in every possible way!” the governor stressed.
Additional measures include an annual cash payment in the amount of 5,000 rubles per child for school and sports uniforms, monthly compensation for utility bills and residential premises. Regular compensations are also introduced in the amount of no more than 5 thousand rubles from the cost of vacation packages for each family member. In addition, monthly payments of 600 rubles are provided for each student child for public transport and free meals in educational organizations of regional subordination. The regional law will come into force on September 1.
Alexey Russian called on the heads of district administrations to create a single comfortable space for children from large families and introduce free meals in schools for this category by decision of municipal councils of deputies.
According to the Ministry of Social Development of the Ulyanovsk region, about 15 social support measures continue to operate to help families.
“Last year, the first multifunctional family center was opened in the region, which has an emergency crisis department for families and children. We plan to put the second such center into operation this year in Dimitrovgrad. Teenage spaces are open, social hotels are open for citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation. There is a multifunctional telephone “Female assistant” in the region. In addition, families with children can receive the support of a social nanny, state social assistance is provided on the basis of a social contract,” said Dmitry Batrakov, Minister of Social Development of the Ulyanovsk region.
Natalia Makarova, chairman of the regional public council of the Strong Family party project, said that a number of important projects have been implemented for several years to support families.
“Our region is considered one of the leading in this direction. For example, we were one of the first to implement such a project as social nannies and now they help parents with short-term childcare. Therefore, it is important that in his report the head of the region paid special attention to new formats of support for families with children,” Natalia Makarova noted.
