On May 3, 2024, in pursuance of the Work Plan of the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2024-2025, a workshop was held on the preparation and holding of the next meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission.
The event, held in the format of a videoconference, was attended by A.S. Avtonomov, Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the CIS Human Rights Commission, authorized representatives of the Commission members from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and responsible staff of the Secretariat of the Commission and the CIS Executive Committee.
A constructive dialogue took place, during which issues related to the date and venue of the next meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission in June 2024, coordination and approval of the Commission’s form and the form of the Chairman of the Commission were considered.
The meeting participants expressed the need to continue further discussion of issues in order to properly prepare and hold the second meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission, and also decided to hold another workshop in the first decade of June this year.
