On May 9, Consul General of Russia in Rio de Janeiro A.Y. Petrov, accompanied by diplomats of the Consulate General, visited the National Monument in memory of those killed in World War II in Rio de Janeiro.
After the reception with military honors, the Consul General and his entourage were received by the director of the memorial complex, Colonel Luciano Allevato Magalais.
On the occasion of the Victory Day celebration, the Consul General laid a wreath on behalf of the Russian Federation at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and left an entry in the book of honored guests.
The ceremony was attended by Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro Tian Ming, Assistant Head of the Department for International Relations of the Government of Rio de Janeiro Pedro Vicente Canesin Bittencourt, Rear Admiral Roberto Lemos, representatives of the Brazilian army, academia of Rio de Janeiro, diplomats and compatriots.
