Russia and China are at a new historical starting point, Chinese President Xi Jinping said after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“…China and Russia will firmly adhere to their original goals, work together and take responsibility to bring more benefit to the peoples of the two countries and make a proper contribution to global security and stability,” the Chinese leader assured.
He emphasized that Beijing and Moscow advocate a multipolar world and economic globalization. According to him, China and Russia defend the system of international relations with the central role of the United Nations and the world order, which is based on international law.
Xi Jinping assured that the PRC and the Russian Federation will not continue to join the blocs. Both states are not going to target third countries.
“We agreed with the President (of Russia Vladimir – Sputnik) According to Putin, the main reason why China and Russia were able to embark on a new path of development of relations between major powers and neighboring countries is mutual respect, treating each other as equals, constant firm mutual support on issues related to the fundamental interests and main concerns of each side,” he stressed the Chinese leader.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin is making a state visit to China from May 16 to 17. The program includes a visit not only to Beijing, but also to Harbin, where Putin will take part in the opening of the eighth Russian-Chinese EXPO and the fourth Russian-Chinese Forum on interregional Cooperation.
