Russia is ready to increase gas supplies to Uzbekistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at talks with Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev in an expanded format.
“I would like to mention separately that on October 7, 2023, you and I and the President of Kazakhstan (Kassym-Jomart Tokayev) launched the start of Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan through the Kazakh territory. Now exports are carried out much ahead of schedule, we are ready to increase this volume if necessary,” Putin said.
The pumping of Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is planned to increase to 11 billion cubic meters next year, he added.
Recall that the President of the Russian Federation is on a state visit to Uzbekistan on May 26-27 at the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The program of the stay includes high—level negotiations in narrow and expanded formats, participation in the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as the signing of a number of documents.
