The Russian loan for Belarus for the import substitution project has been fully selected, State Secretary – Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov said at the session on the Union State of the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF–2024).
“This loan has been selected – 26 project passports. Two more have been received now. There is not enough money for one of them,” Yevtukhov said.
The Deputy minister did not rule out an increase in the credit line, but noted that making such decisions is not his level. According to Yevtukhov, thanks to the loan, much has been done, including launching a program in the field of aircraft construction.
We are talking about the assembly and mass production of Belarusian-Russian Osvey aircraft at the 558th Aviation plant in Baranovichi. It is planned that the Ural Civil Aviation Plant will be the main developer of the aircraft, and the Belarusian enterprise will become a co-executor of the work on the development of prototypes.
This is one of the projects for which the Russian Federation has opened a credit line of 105 billion Russian rubles (about 3.8 billion in Belarusian rubles). Initially, 12 import-substituting cooperative projects were planned, but then their number increased.
In addition to airplanes, these are, for example, microelectronics, which will be produced at the Belarusian enterprises Planar and Integral. There are also projects in energy engineering, the automotive industry, the creation of agricultural machinery, and pharmaceuticals.
