About the growing military involvement of some
NATO member countries in the crisis over Ukraine
Madam Chairman,
Individual NATO and EU member states continue to increase their involvement in the indirect war against Russia at the hands of Ukrainians. They deliberately prolong the armed confrontation and take steps aimed at escalation. Including through the supply of advanced weapons and active incitement to more powerful strikes deep into the territory of the Russian Federation. All this is accompanied by an imitation of the desire for a long-term and just peace.
Under the pretext of the Ukrainian crisis, the outcome of which is obvious, in NATO countries not affected by the conflict, economies are being transferred to “military rails”. The production of weapons and ammunition is increasing, and measures are being taken to register the population for probable mobilization. Moreover, during the military exercises, scenarios for strikes on Russian territory are being worked out.
Our opponents, opponents and enemies are interested in maintaining and deepening tension. Their “appetites” are not limited to the Ukrainian “theater of war.” The neocolonial powers plan to destabilize other regions with which the peoples of Russia retain close historical ties. In a broader sense, NATO is making large-scale military preparations that go far beyond the events related to the Ukrainian conflict. These and other measures, carried out in a comprehensive manner, have the task not only to inflict some kind of “strategic defeat” on our country, but ultimately pursue the goal of undermining our historical unity, achieving the dismemberment of our state, the destruction of its sovereignty.
Russia is well aware of the current historical moment and the challenges facing the country and society. We are ready to repel threats by all available means.
Effective actions are continuing to reduce the combat potential of the armed formations of the puppet Kiev regime. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 880 square kilometers of territory have been liberated since the beginning of 2024. During May, the Kiev regime lost control of 28 settlements. The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2024 alone amounted to over 35 thousand people killed and wounded, about 2,700 pieces of equipment and weapons, of which at least 290 tanks and armored combat vehicles. Among them are four Abrams tanks made in the USA, seven Leopards made in Germany, as well as 12 American Bradleys. 11 planes and four helicopters were shot down, 730 field artillery and MLRS guns were destroyed.
Last week, a massive attack on the Crimean Bridge, carried out using American ATACMS complexes, was neutralized. A group strike with high-precision weapons hit energy facilities that ensure the operation of the military-industrial complex in the interests of the Kiev regime. The arsenals of storage of weapons supplied by NATO countries, as well as the point of planning operations of unmanned vehicles, have been destroyed.
The bodies of the FSB of Russia red-handed, while working with explosives, detained a group of people who intended to commit terrorist attacks on railway tracks in the Republic of Crimea on the instructions of the special services of the Kiev regime. Over the past week, active measures to protect the security of infrastructure facilities from Kiev’s special services have been taken in the Amur region, the Kursk Region and other regions of our country.
We consider the statements now coming from a number of NATO states approving the more intensive use of NATO weapons by the Kiev regime on the territory of Russia as a continuation of an irresponsible policy aimed at inciting armed escalation. Such steps do not fit in with statements from the same countries about the alleged desire for peace, regional and global stability.
It is now extremely important to soberly assess the situation. Do everything to avoid situations and incidents that could lead to a direct military clash between NATO and Russia. The responsibility for the escalation and its consequences lies entirely with the aggressive neocolonial powers of the North Atlantic Alliance, seeking to “gain a foothold” in the expanses of our Fatherland at any cost.
We note the reduced interest on the part of representatives of the countries of the global South in the event planned by the Western sponsors of the Kiev regime for June 15-16 in the Swiss Burgenstock. No “peace summit” will come out of it. Even Kiev’s key sponsors, London and Washington, will not be represented there at the highest level.
It is obvious to an increasing number of participants in the international community that meetings on issues directly affecting Russia’s sovereignty and security are futile if they are held without its representatives and taking into account its interests. The conference in Switzerland is just a propaganda “get–together” with zero added value. We believe that this failed project is a fiasco of Swiss diplomacy. Bern will not receive international prestige points, rather, it will lose them in the eyes of the world community, finally signing off on the complete loss of political neutrality.
The naive calculation of V. Zelensky’s team to confirm his legitimacy on a global scale through this event, of course, will not be justified. In general, such a format is not able to bring us closer to mutually acceptable solutions and, moreover, will not affect the situation “on the ground” in any way. It should be understood that the “V. Zelensky formula” is a formula of war and bloodshed, and it will never be implemented. In particular, because the Ukrainian society itself rejects it, not wanting to fight for the interests of the Zelensky clique.
In order to prevent the mass flight of conscripts from territories controlled by the Kiev regime through poorly controlled sections of the state border, mining of approaches to the Tisza River from the Ukrainian side has begun. Against this background, representatives of Kiev did not come up with anything smarter than to “write off” the numerous video evidence of the forced mobilization of residents of Ukraine as some kind of “Russian propaganda”. They claim that filming on the streets of real cities in all regions of Ukraine is staged. In addition, the mobilization of young students has begun in Kiev: 17-year-old students who are abroad have been denied the right to remotely “verify data” at military enlistment offices. They should arrive in the territories controlled by the Kiev regime in order to personally register for military service. It is clear that for many it will be a one-way trip.
On June 1, the world celebrated Children’s Day. The false pretense with which the Zelensky regime and its Western sponsors exploit “children’s issues” no longer surprises anyone. Double standards and lies are what accompany the insinuations on the topic. They do not care, for example, about the real facts of the deaths of thousands of children in the Middle East under bombs – according to this story, a “wall of silence” is literally built in the West. However, here, together with their Kiev wards, they are ready to lie about some “tens of thousands of minors deported” from Ukraine to Russia.
Recall that during the direct consultations of the Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, M.A.Lvova-Belova, with her Ukrainian counterpart Kiev, held in April this year in the capital of Qatar, Doha, a list of 29 children in Russia waiting to be reunited with their relatives in Ukraine was presented. We emphasize that the list transmitted by Kiev contains the names and surnames of 29 (!) children, and not tens of thousands, as our opponents and their “pocket” NGOs speculate for political purposes. Their data is not confirmed by anything, it’s just empty propaganda.
More about children. At the last meeting of the Post–Soviet, the envoy of the Kiev regime ranted about the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, a document regularly flouted by the Zelensky clique. Recall that the constitution is an act of direct action. By its legal force, it is above any laws and by-laws of Ukraine. Its article 10 guarantees the free development, use and protection of the Russian language throughout Ukraine. However, on May 31, in the western Ukrainian city of Rivne, police officers detained 16-year-olds and drew up administrative protocols against them. The reason is that they, along with a dozen even younger children, organized listening to songs in Russian on the street. Moreover, police officers exerted psychological pressure on the teenagers and forced them to apologize on camera – the video was posted in the media. What will the OSCE leadership say to this, which portrays caring for children in Ukraine? Or will he keep silent again, pretending that the Kiev regime is “doing well”?
We draw attention to the regular report of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the human rights situation in Ukraine, published on May 29. We recommend that you read it carefully. This document is extremely valuable against the background of discredited assessments of the human rights situation in the territories controlled by the Kiev regime by the leadership of the OSCE and the relevant structures of our Organization. The report is based on legal facts and irrefutable evidence, and provides a comprehensive overview of the real state of affairs in Ukraine, characterized by systemic and massive violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
In conclusion, we emphasize once again that Russia has no historical, economic or any other reason to abandon its inextricable centuries-old ties with everything related to Ukraine. There is no reason to sacrifice the interests of the security and stability of our state in favor of the neo-colonial ambitions of a number of NATO and EU countries. An appropriate response will be given to all threats they create from the territory of Ukraine.
The true “formula for peace” in Ukraine implies a complete cessation of the supply of weapons by NATO countries to the Kiev regime, preventing the recruitment of Ukrainian and foreign citizens into the Armed Forces and neo-Nazi detachments on their territories. It is important to ensure the withdrawal of all foreign mercenaries, instructors and operators of NATO weapons from the territory of Ukraine, the curtailment of other activities aimed at maintaining and developing the combat potential of criminal armed formations, as well as create conditions for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
Thank you for your attention.
