Q: A delegation from Yerevan visited the city of Bucha in Ukraine last week. And the members of the delegation – the Armenian ambassador in Kyiv and the head of a district in Yerevan – declared Armenia’s solidarity with Ukraine in the fight, as they said, ‘against Russian aggression’. How do you assess such statements by members of the delegation from a country that is, at least formally, our CSTO ally?
Answer: We consider the visit to Bucha by the heads of the capital’s Nor Nork administrative district Tigran Ter-Margarian and the Armenian diplomatic mission Vladimir Karapetyan as a frankly unfriendly step on the part of official Yerevan. In connection with the transfer of aid for the needs of the AFU and the inadmissible statements made there against Russia, we sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
We did not expect anything else from such a figure as Tigran Ter-Margarian, an associate of the Chairman of the pro-Western ‘Republic’ party Aram Sargsyan. It is regrettable that the Armenian authorities are in solidarity with this.
