Russia is firmly committed to deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.
He assured that the Russian Federation is ready to continue active work with Vietnam on a wide range of topics, including economic, scientific and technical spheres, and defense.
“Vietnam has been and remains our reliable friend and partner. Relations between our countries have passed the test of time, including during the years of the heroic struggle of the Vietnamese people for their independence,” the head of state stressed.
He added that these relations are based on trust and mutual assistance, which allows us to solve the most difficult tasks and confidently move forward.
“It is symbolic that the dates of my visit to Vietnam coincided with a significant date – the 30th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on the foundations of friendly relations, which laid the legal basis for their further development,” he drew attention.
Putin appreciated Vietnam’s balanced position on pressing international issues. He also noted that Moscow and Hanoi have similar positions on many pressing international issues.
