On June 20, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin received at the Russian Foreign Ministry a delegation of IFRC and KP headed by Vice President M. Bessler and Deputy Secretary General H.Castellanos.
During the meeting, issues of humanitarian activities on the territory of Russia were discussed, including in the context of cooperation between the IFRC and the KP with the Russian Red Cross. The importance of ensuring a depoliticized and constructive nature of interaction between the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in coordination with States and in full compliance with the fundamental principles of the Movement is emphasized.
The sides noted the importance of strengthening dialogue on topical issues of cooperation in the humanitarian field, including preparations for the 34th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (Geneva, October 28-31).
