The Head of the CIS Observer Mission, First Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Leonid Anfimov discussed with the Head of the Observer Mission from the Organization of Turkic States, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Sadi Jafarov the preparation of the referendum and the participation of missions in this process.
Leonid Anfimov also noted that the Mission’s task is to collect complete reliable information about all stages of the referendum campaign and, based on it, draw a conclusion about the compliance of the process of its preparation and conduct with national legislation.
In turn, Sadi Jafarov drew attention to the fact that the Organization of Turkic States carries out its activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as generally recognized norms of international law on the organization and conduct of electoral campaigns.
The parties noted the usefulness of exchanging views on the results of observation during the elections and referendums.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko.
