On December 2, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic in Moscow Bashar Jaafari at his request.
During the conversation, a discussion took place on the dangerous escalation of the situation in Syria in connection with the terrorist attack by armed groups in northwestern SARDINIA.
The Russian side expressed solidarity with the leadership of Syria and its people, and confirmed its strong support for the efforts of the Syrian authorities to stabilize the situation in the country. The principled and unwavering position in favor of the need to respect the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria was also emphasized.
