On December 19, 2024, the CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev met with the General Coordinator of the Immortal Regiment movement Mher Avetisyan in Moscow.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the upcoming 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as a wide range of events dedicated to significant events and memorable dates of the Great Patriotic War. Much attention was paid at the meeting to exposing attempts to falsify the events and outcomes of the war.
It should be recalled that by the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of State, 2025 was declared in the Commonwealth the Year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.
