The Brazilian Ministry of Education has introduced the Pé-de-Meia Licenciatura program, aimed at improving the professional training of primary and secondary school teachers, as well as attracting new professionals to the profession. This is reported by TV Cultura, a partner of the TV BRICS network.

The initiative covers 2.3 million teachers. It is expected that this will significantly improve the quality of education for 47.3 million students across the country.

A key element of the program is financial support for both future and current teachers. Students of pedagogical universities will receive monthly scholarships during the entire period of study.

The program is also aimed at students who have performed well in the national School graduation exam. They will receive financial support to enroll in pedagogical specialties at universities.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva attended the initiative’s launch ceremony, underlining the government’s commitment to investing in education and ensuring equal access to quality education throughout the country.
