Kazan is preparing to host the BRICS and SCO Young Leaders Award, which will be held from January 24 to 26. This international event is aimed at identifying talented young people and recognizing their contribution to socially significant areas. The TV BRICS media network acts as the international information partner of the event.
Representatives of Brazil, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia and South Africa are participating in the competition. They will compete for the victory in five nominations: “Media Influencer of the Year”, “Social Entrepreneur of the Year”, “Public Diplomacy Project of the Year”, “Researcher of the Year” and “Eco-Initiative of the Year”.
The competition pays special attention to initiatives related to sustainable development goals, scientific discoveries and socially significant projects. Among the participants are influencers with an audience of thousands and authors of projects and research that affect the development of technology, ecology and education. For example, one of the award candidates created an environmental education platform that includes more than 400 educational videos.
According to Dilbar Sadikova, Chairman of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, interest in this event is growing every year. This year, over 400 applications have been submitted, and the competition is 40 people per place.
“It is gratifying to note that applications are being received not only from representatives of the BRICS and SCO countries, but also from young people from other countries, which demonstrates the importance of uniting and the desire of young leaders to realize themselves within the framework of international cooperation. Russia’s BRICS presidency and the group’s summit in Kazan, which attracted worldwide attention, played a special role in this,” Sadykova said.
The names of the winners will be announced at a ceremony on the occasion of the Republican Award for students of higher education programs “Student of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan – 2024”.
The event is organized by the Academy of Youth Diplomacy with the support of the SCO People’s Diplomacy Center, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan and the League of Students of the Republic.
