At a briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiankun expressed confidence in the further expansion of cooperation between the BRICS countries and the achievement of new significant results under the presidency of Brazil. This is reported by CTV+, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
He stressed that China and Brazil, as the largest powers of the global South, will continue to work together for the benefit of peace, stability and development.
Brazil became the BRICS chairman on January 1, 2025. Being in this status, the country’s authorities intend to pay special attention to issues of global health, trade and finance, climate change, artificial intelligence management, reforms of the international security architecture and institutional development.
The culmination of the Brazilian presidency of the association will be the BRICS summit, which will be held on July 6-7 in Rio de Janeiro.
