On March 11, Ambassador of Russia Anatoly Viktorov was received by the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Yuval Fuchs.
The sides discussed in detail current issues on the Russian-Israeli, Middle Eastern and international agendas, including the inadmissibility of glorifying Nazi accomplices in Ukraine and the problem of resolving the situation in and around that country.
The commonality of Russia’s and Israel’s approaches to the need to continue joint efforts to preserve the historical truth about World War II and the decisive contribution of the Red Army to the Victory over Nazism was noted.
The Russian side drew the attention of the Israeli side to the decision to suspend electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip, which grossly violates the norms of international humanitarian law, and the need for constructive cooperation with all interested parties, including relevant international organizations, in order to quickly normalize the situation in the Gaza Strip, ensure all the conditions of the agreement on ending hostilities there and releasing the detainees.
The unwavering desire to take into account the interests of the two countries and continue political dialogue was confirmed.
