The M.V. Khrunichev Center is working on cooperation with Kazakhstan. This was announced by the general director of the company in a comment to journalists on August 16. He also named the areas of cooperation of the enterprise with the republic.

The Khrunichev Center, which is part of Roscosmos, is actively working on cooperation with the Kazakh side, the general director of the enterprise said Alexey Brewhenko in a comment to TASS journalists on the sidelines of the international forum “Army-2023”. So, one of the partnership scenarios involves the use of a Proton launch vehicle.

According to Brewhenko, questions on the possible use of Protons after 2025 can be considered only with mutual agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan.

Recall that with the assistance of Russia, Kazakhstan is actively developing its own space program. Russia shares space exploration technologies with Kazakhstan and finances a number of joint research projects.

Earlier, within the framework of the Baiterek project, Russia and Kazakhstan started creating a new launch complex at Baikonur for launching Soyuz-5 launch vehicles on the basis of the site previously used for launching Zenit carriers. The first launch of the new rocket at the new launch pad is scheduled for 2025.
