On July 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad of the Syrian Arab Republic F.Mikdad exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which is celebrated on this day.
The foreign ministers noted that multifaceted Russian-Syrian relations based on feelings of mutual sympathy, friendship and mutual respect are successfully developing. They stressed the firm commitment of Moscow and Damascus to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields and maintain close foreign policy coordination on topical issues on the global and regional agenda.
