On December 14, A.V. Yakovenko, a member of the Board, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, held consultations in a remote format with the President of the Chinese University of Foreign Affairs (Diplomatic Academy China) Van Fanem.
The interlocutors informed each other in detail about new areas of activity of educational institutions with an emphasis on training young international specialists and professional development of diplomats of their countries, as well as foreign diplomatic staff.
Taking the opportunity, the parties exchanged views on new trends in global development. The situation in the sphere of global security and in the markets of world trade and finance is analyzed. Special attention was paid to how new realities are reflected in the educational process.
The parties discussed plans for cooperation between the two educational institutions in various areas. Thus, it is planned to conduct lectures online on modern international issues, joint research and publications, professional development of current diplomats, organization of summer schools of Russian and Chinese languages within the framework of language student clubs. In 2023, it is planned to organize a scientific conference “Diplomacy of the Future” in Moscow.
Wang Fan, President of the Chinese University of Foreign Affairs, was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry”.
