A landmark event for the country is taking place in Uzbekistan this week — a referendum on amendments to the constitution.

Uzbekistan is preparing for a national referendum. The President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to update the Constitution of the country. The vote is scheduled for this Sunday.

There are many amendments to the basic law — the reform assumes that it will be updated by 65%. The number of articles is going to be increased from 128 to 155, and the number of norms — from 275 to 434. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to carry out constitutional reform in 2021.

The amendments put to the vote provide for really large-scale changes.

Marat Shakirzyanov, editor-in-chief of the Online publication “Embassy Life”, while in Uzbekistan in order to cover the political event of the country – the referendum, noted the serious preparations for the referendum and the high organization of all events related to this important event for the country.

The main day of the referendum is scheduled for April 30. 10,758 polling stations were created for voting, 55 of which were organized in 39 foreign countries. It is planned that about 20 million people will take part in the voting.

During the trip, Marat Shakirzyanov met with the head of the PR Center within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan Dilfuza Samandarova.

In the conversation, the Head of the PR Center noted that over the past 6 years, a modern infrastructure has been created in Uzbekistan to receive a large number of tourists.

“With the arrival of our current President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, everything has changed dramatically. Even 5 years ago, the state of our tourist infrastructure did not allow us to receive many guests.  Now our President has chosen the path on which we will be open and he himself is doing everything possible for the development of tourism, including. The President assigns a big role to the coverage of the tourism potential in the media to attract potential tourists. He began to travel, to establish ties with countries, as part of his visit, promotions about Uzbekistan as a tourist country are being prepared.

In Uzbekistan today, the situation is favorable for the reception of tourists: a large number of roads, hotels, restaurants have been built. The infrastructure is fully ready to receive tourists. As a result, the tourist flow to Uzbekistan has significantly increased, including from Russia,” Dilfuza Samandarova said.

According to her, if earlier Uzbekistan relied on familiarizing tourists with the history and architecture of the republic, now there is a diversification of the national tourist product due to the active development of ethnographic, religious, gastronomic, ski and other types of tourism. These destinations are very popular with tourists, because they allow you to get to know the country better, to get to know it from different sides.

“Of course, there are still many tasks to be completed, but the Uzbek people are very hardworking and this does not frighten them,” Dilfuza Samandarova concluded.

Marat Shakirzyanov discussed issues of further information cooperation with the PR Center within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan. The readers of the online edition are Embassies of foreign countries in the Russian Federation and diplomatic missions abroad, and this will allow telling about Uzbekistan as a prosperous country, not only to the Russian reader, but also to readers of other countries.

At the meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Azamov, they talked about the achievements of Uzbekistan in the field of culture in recent years, about the popularization of the national heritage of Uzbekistan not only inside the country, but also abroad at various international venues, about festivals and other important events. They also talked about the development of tourism in Uzbekistan. What other tasks remain to be solved, and at the same time how much has already been done to attract tourists.

In the current conditions, the promotion of the culture of Uzbekistan has become a priority with the great support of the President of Uzbekistan and the adoption of a new version of the Constitution will become a solid legal basis and a reliable guarantee for the implementation of the Development Strategy and a prosperous tomorrow’s life.

The history of a New legal social Uzbekistan is being created before our eyes. The high public activity of the Uzbek people in connection with the changes in the Constitution has become proof of this. Earlier, the head of state noted that the most important goal of mass discussion is that every citizen can proudly say: “This is my Constitution!”.

The ballot for the popular vote will contain only one question: “Do you accept the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”?”, which will need to be answered “yes” or “no”.

And these are not just words, watching the preparations for an important event for the country, not only in the government, but also among ordinary citizens of Uzbekistan, there is enthusiasm and a desire to adopt a new document. Residents of Uzbekistan are preparing to take an active part in voting for the adoption of a new constitution – “My Constitution,” as the people of Uzbekistan say.
