President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states on June 20.
The Head of State noted that the time for the organization is now very difficult and requires maximum mobilization of forces, experience and resources to preserve peace. And while preparing for the meeting, he thought about what to say the main thing, because a lot has already been voiced recently. Assessing the activities of the CSTO, Alexander Lukashenko noted that the organization is sometimes rightly criticized for its lack of solving specific problems.
For example, Kyrgyzstan has been asking for help in resolving the conflict with Tajikistan for a long time. Armenia makes reasonable claims. If we do not solve these problems, the CSTO countries will always reproach each other, express dissatisfaction with the work of the organization, the Belarusian leader is sure. Therefore, no matter how we twist or turn, we need to dive into the problems of the CSTO countries and look for a way out.
“There are problems, there are tasks, they must be solved, no matter how difficult they may be. And sometimes we don’t want to solve them because of their complexity,” Alexander Lukashenko said. He stressed that if our “friends-advisers” from the West get involved in solving these problems, it will be much more difficult to do anything.
“The current situation in the world leaves no doubt for us that we must stick together,” the Head of State stressed. “We need to stick together, especially in this difficult time.”
Alexander Lukashenko stated the need to deepen cooperation with the UN, the SCO, and other international organizations.
