On October 31, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Moscow Khaled Shavabka at his request.
During the confidential exchange of views on the current Middle East agenda, the main attention was paid to the development of the situation in and around the Gaza Strip. At the same time, they stressed the need to consolidate international efforts in the interests of an early ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the population of the Palestinian enclave.
They also touched upon a number of issues of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Jordanian relations, including maintaining an active political dialogue on international issues of mutual interest.
