On October 31, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow Nazih Nagari at his request.
During the conversation, the main attention was paid to the sharp aggravation of the situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. At the same time, the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the solution of the most acute humanitarian problems in the Gaza Strip, including the evacuation of foreign citizens through Egyptian territory, was confirmed. The importance of the early resumption of the peace process aimed at realizing the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish a sovereign State within the 1967 borders was also stressed.
When discussing some practical aspects of further strengthening the multifaceted Russian-Egyptian cooperation, emphasis was placed on the task of foreign policy coordination at the UN and other international platforms.
