On December 14, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Paraguay Wilma Patricia Frutos Ruiz, who is in Yerevan to participate in the ministerial meeting of Landlocked Developing Countries.
During the meeting, the Armenian side’s interest in developing relations with Paraguay in various fields was emphasized. In this regard, the Deputy Minister noted that in the near future the Armenian Embassy in Montevideo will be jointly accredited in the Republic of Paraguay and will undoubtedly contribute to the bilateral agenda.
Thanking the Armenian side for the hospitality, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay confirmed Paraguay’s interest in developing relations with Armenia.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of developing the Armenian-Paraguayan agenda on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
The Deputy Minister informed about the security situation around Armenia, as well as about the steps aimed at regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The efforts of the Armenian Government aimed at ensuring the needs and rights of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan were touched upon.
The sides also exchanged views on developments in Latin America and the South Caucasus, as well as on a number of other pressing international issues.
