On December 17-23, the 45th session of the Joint Control Group on the Implementation of the agreements between the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China on confidence-building in the military field in the Border Area of April 26, 1996 and on the reduction of armed forces in the Border area of April 24, 1997 was held in Beijing.
It was noted that the agreements are being implemented in full, the number of armed forces in the border area does not exceed the maximum levels, and the exchange of military information is carried out in strict accordance with the established procedure. The mutual inspection plan for 2023 has been completed.
The agreements signed in 1996 and 1997 in Shanghai and Moscow are an important factor in ensuring stability and security in the region, strengthening friendship and cooperation between the five states.
The event was held in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere.
