The Government of Moldova has approved the National Industrial Development Program for 2024-2028. The document covers the strategic vision and key areas of development of the manufacturing industry in the country in the medium term.
Its development took into account the potential of the industrial sector and the obligations of the Republic of Moldova as a candidate country for accession to the European Union, the Cabinet of Ministers clarified.
The aim of the program is to accelerate the green and digital transition of the industry, integrate it into the single European market and develop a consolidated and diversified industry.

The program will cover the production of electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, food industries, as well as the manufacture of building materials and automotive components.

The implementation of the program, according to its authors, should lead to significant growth of the manufacturing industry, increasing its share in GDP from 8.2% in 2023 to 11.5% by 2028.
This will also lead to an increase in the number of people employed in the manufacturing industry, which will account for 15% of the total number of workers in the economy, and industrial production is expected to increase by at least 25% over the specified period.
The national Industrial Development Program for 2024-2028 is a priority in the national action plan for Moldova’s accession to the European Union, the Ministry of Economic Development clarified.
