Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the structure of federal executive authorities, according to the Kremlin’s website.
“The head of State signed a decree on the structure of federal executive authorities,” the statement said.
It is specified that the Prime Minister will have 10 deputies, including one first. At the same time, they will also include the presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Far Eastern Federal District and the head of the government staff.
The decree comes into force from the date of its official publication.
On Friday, Putin appointed Mikhail Mishustin as Prime Minister of Russia. The new chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers must submit proposals to the president within a week on the structure of federal executive authorities, and within two weeks – the candidacies of deputy prime ministers and federal ministers for approval by the State Duma (with the exception of the heads of the power bloc and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
The Lower House of Parliament makes decisions no later than one week. As the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin clarified, on Monday, May 13, deputies will consider candidates for the positions of deputy prime ministers, and on Tuesday, May 14, for the posts of ministers.
Further, all appointments must be approved by the president.
The heads of the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Russian Foreign Ministry are appointed by the head of state himself after consultations with the Federation Council. Vladimir Jabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the International Committee of the upper house of Parliament, said that consultations on this issue will begin on May 13.
