Since 2019, the best projects for the development of event tourism and unique tourist routes have been selected in the region. The best of them are sent to the All-Russian equivalent of the regional competition VISIT KUZBASS. For the first time in the Year of the Family, the organizers introduced a special nomination related to the promotion of family tourism projects.
“Many residents of our country have discovered Kuzbass thanks to the exhibition-forum “Russia”. We are creating a modern infrastructure and developing new routes so that guests can come to Kuzbass with the whole family and spend time actively. We hold the Dinoterra Festival, the Sheregesh Forum and other events. Participation in competitions helps our entrepreneurs to declare themselves and the travel brands of Kuzbass, especially since several nominations have been added this year. Among them is the “Best Family Tourism Event”, since 2024 was declared the Year of the Family on the initiative of President Vladimir Putin,” said Elena Latyshenko, Minister of Tourism of Kuzbass.
On May 15 and 16, the full–time defense of the tourist projects VISIT KUZBASS 2024 takes place in the Kuzbass capital, Kemerovo. More than 320 applications have been received from entrepreneurs in the region. 208 projects were completed, including 35 tourist routes, including 3 family routes, 127 souvenirs, and 31 tourist events.
3 contenders are competing for the victory in the nomination “The best family tourist event” – G.M. Lobanov’s peasant farm with the project “Family Picnic. Communication of generations” (Industrialnovsky district), IP Kotov Yuri Yurievich, who announced the PROPiknik festival (Prokopyevsk) and the autonomous non-profit organization Cultural and Leisure Center Attraction with the project Siberian Festival of Fitness and Healthy Generation (Sheregesh).
The names of the winners will be announced on May 17 during a ceremony at the Theater for Children and Youth. The winners of the nominations and the winner of the Grand Prix will receive support for the development of their projects.
The VISIT KUZBASS competition is a platform for sharing experiences, a tool for professional growth and improving the quality of services provided by travel organizations. It unites 4 directions: tourist routes, souvenirs, tourist events and a competition of professional skills of guides and translation guides.
The organizer of the competition is the Kuzbass Tourism Agency with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Kuzbass and the Executive Directorate of the All-Russian Tourist Souvenir Competition.
